Aftercare
The after-care is a service provided by the school to parents who are working late.
Children (Grade 0 to 7) are looked after in a safe environment until 17:00.
A sandwich and juice is provided at the after-care. Children may bring an additional packed lunch to school.
Only learners attending Kuswag Primary will be considered for after-care.
The application form must be completed in full by the parent or guardian of the learner.
Parents will have to re-apply for admission to the after-care at the end of the year.
Payment records, late collection of children and behaviour of learners will be taken into account when considering re-admission.
Should a learner be absent for an afternoon for any reason (except extra-murals), written notice must be given in advance by the parent / guardian to the person in charge of after-care.
It is the parent’s responsibility to inform the after-care if a child is absent from school.
The after-care operates between 13:00 and 17:00
Learners must report to the after-care straight after school.
Children attending after-care may under no circumstances leave the school premises.
Parents are required to sign their children out daily.
Parents must clearly indicate on the application form as to who may collect their child/children from after-care.
A signed letter is required should a child be going home with anyone not listed on the application form.
Grade 1, 2 & 3 learners are formally assisted with their homework in after-care by our qualified teachers.
The homework program will start at 13:00 and end at 14:00.
Parents must still check the homework at home and sign the homework book.
The school’s Code of Conduct with regards to rules and regulations will be applied at after-care.
If a learner continuously breaks the school rules, his / her enrolment at after-care will be terminated.
A fresh change of clothing must be brought to school daily.
All items of clothing and other belongings must be clearly marked with a permanent marker.
The school will not accept responsibility for any lost / stolen property.
Minor medical problems are dealt with on the spot, but should a child require a doctor, the parents will be contacted. Parents will have to pay for all medical costs incurred.
All fees are strictly payable in advance.
Should payment not be received by the 7th of the month, and no written arrangement was made with the Principal, the service will be terminated immediately and the child will not be allowed to attend.
R7600,00 once off for the year, OR R760,00 monthly, payable over 10 monthly instalments (February – November) ORR220,00 weekly, payable for 42 school weeks.
Fees may be paid by EFT, debit order, bank deposit or by debit card or in cash at the office.
Please use the child’s name, surname and grade as reference.
All children in after-care must be collected by 17:00.
NB: After 17:00, a penalty fee of R20,00 for every 5 minutes that parents are late will be charged to their account.
