School Attendance
According to the SASA it is a criminal offence for a child of school-going age not to be in school.
Learners must attend school regularly and not stay absent without a valid reason.
Parents must contact / inform the school if a learner is absent.
If a learner has been absent for one or two days, he/she must bring a letter from his/her parents or guardian.
If a learner is absent for 3 or more days, a medical certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner is needed.
A learner who is absent for 10 school days without informing the school, will be removed from the admissions register.
The safety of our learners is very important.
Please make sure that the person transporting your child to and from school is responsible and trustworthy.
Parents / contracts are not allowed to drive into the school premises to collect or to drop off learners.
Learners must be fetched early from school; no later than the stipulated times as there will be no one to look after them.
If parents can’t fetch their children early, they must enroll them in the After-care.
Please ensure that the school has functional cell phone numbers that can be used in case of an emergency.
GR. 0 & R: (Please discuss this routine with your child).
In the morning: Parents may accompany their children to the ECD entrance gate.
After school: (This applies only to Grade 0 and R learners)
Children will wait for their parents in the ECD waiting area.
If the weather is bad, the children will wait in their classes.
The children must be collected from the small gate of the ECD waiting area.
Parents / taxi drivers are not allowed to enter the ECD area.
NB: The school cannot be held responsible for learners who leave the school premises in the afternoon.
All grade 0 learners must have gone home by 13:00.
All grade R learners must have gone home by 13:45.
GR. 1, 2 & 3: (Please discuss this routine with your child).
Parents / contract drivers must drop the learners off at the scholar entrance gate.
Learners will be accompanied by the prefects to the netball courts where they assemble in the morning before school.
Learners must not wander around the school grounds after school, unless they have sport or other school activities.
After school: Learners will be kept in the ECD waiting area.
Parents / taxi drivers may collect the learners from the small gate of the ECD waiting area.
Parents / taxi drivers are not allowed to enter the ECD waiting area.
If the weather is bad, the children will be allowed to wait in the hall.
Learners are not allowed to wait for their transport in the street.
The school cannot be held responsible for learners who leave the school grounds in the afternoon.
All grade 1,2 & 3 learners must have gone home by 14:00.
GR. 4 – 7: (Please discuss this routine with your child).
Learners must line up on the netball courts before school starts.
Learners must not wander around the school grounds after school, unless they have sport or other school activities.
After school: Learners must wait for their transport on the netball courts (inside the school yard).
If the weather is bad, they will be allowed to wait in the hall.
Learners are not allowed to wait for their transport in the street.
The school cannot be held responsible for learners who leave the school grounds in the afternoon.
All grade 4 – 7 learners must have gone home by 14:00.
