Homework and Reports

HOMEWORK

Gr. 0 learners do not get homework.

Gr. R, 1, 2 & 3 learners have homework every day, except on a Friday.

Gr. 4 – 7 learners have homework every day.

Revision of the day’s schoolwork is also homework, especially in the languages and Mathematics.

Learners also get important tasks and projects which must be completed within a specific timeframe.

Some of these tasks are Formal Assessment Tasks.

If learners do not complete and hand these tasks in by the due date, they will be allocated 0 marks.

All learners must develop a love for reading. 

Parents (Gr. R – 7) must help their children with homework and sign the homework book every day.

The homework book must not be signed, if the homework has not been done.

The homework book must be in the child’s schoolbag every day.

The homework book is also used for communication between parents and teachers.  

Learners in Gr. 4 – 7 must also work in their Departmental Workbooks as instructed by the teachers. 

ACADEMIC PROGRESS REPORTS

Academic reports are official documents and always addressed to parents / guardians.

Reports must be collected by parents at the end of each term, signed and kept in a safe place.

Parents must not send minors to collect reports as it will not be issued to them. 

Parents must study the report carefully and discuss it with their children.

If parents are concerned about poor academic results, they must make an appointment with the class teacher.
